Make a Donation — You can contact The Sickle Cell Disease Association of America - Central Alabama at 205-780-2355 for details on ways to support the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America - Central Alabama through a one-time donation or monthly donations. Remember, all donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law and support our patient programs and help increase public awareness and understanding of sickle cell disease. You will receive a written acknowledgment and tax receipt either online or in the mail.
Give Blood — People with sickle cell disease frequently need blood transfusions to alleviate anemia and other issues caused by complications of the disorder. It’s important that we have a robust supply of all blood types on hand. African-American blood donors are particularly needed.
Participate in a Research Study or Clinical Trial — If you have sickle cell disease or trait, or know someone who does, find information about ongoing and upcoming sickle cell disease research and clinical trials.
